12 Weeks

How far along?  12w1d
Total weight gain:  Another time I thought I gained weight, I lost 5! WTH?
Maternity clothes?  Leggings & a few tops. Bought a bunch of clothes I can wear both being pregnant and not pregnant.
Stretch marks?  Nope!!
Sleep:  Been much better with the new pillow. Love my body pillow too. HIGHLY recommended!! Still have those 4am potty breaks though.
Miss Anything?  What I wouldn't give for a nice glass of sangria and some sushi right now!!
Best Moment this week:  Seeing our little one at our 12 week apt and hearing its perfect HB. Babe has gotten so big!!!
Movement:  I have come to the conclusion baby likes to roll around in there. Feels like I have a fish swimming around. Probably every few days I feel it.
Food cravings:  I told my husband I don't think I have every eaten so much fruit. I can't get enough of it though! Yummm!
Aversions:  Red meat, Mexican, and Ketchup (Even writing it makes me gag!)
Gender Prediction: Girl
Symptoms: I haven't been nauseous in 4 days!! Woohoo! However, these headaches, holy crap. I have to take tylenol just to be able to see straight. Thankfully, they only happen at night. (and are so much better then MS!!)
Have you started to show?  I sure think so. I show more at night than in the early morning.
Belly Button in or out? In! However, hubs looked at me the other day when he was putting lotion on my belly and said "Wow! Your belly button sure does look weird!" Thanks honey. Love you too.
Wedding rings on or off? On! I really hope I don't have to take them off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Emotional!! Happy most of the time. But wow I think I have cried every day this week for no apparent reason.
Looking forward to: Telling the rest of my family on Sunday. Then everyone will know!!!
Not looking forward to: Working late this weekend. I'm not sure I am ready for the late nights again.

Our precious baby. Little tyke was sleeping so we didn't see any movements. But got some great pictures!

Hi Ho Hi Ho Off to the ER I go...

If every pregnancy is going to be like this one, I'm never getting pregnant again. Thursday consisted of extreme RLQ abdominal pain and vomiting. Once I called the OB they said that I should go to the ER. Yippee! I went and got my husband (since he was on the way to the ER and I could hardly drive) and off we went. In the ER the docs were concerned about a few things, appendicitis and an unknown ectopic pregnancy. Good news, it was neither. However, I had a large cyst on my right ovary that decided to burst. Holy hell pain like I've never felt. I have a history of ovarian cysts but none have ever burst. More good news, because they had to do an ultrasound we got to see our little babe again. We were both astonished how big our little tyke has gotten in just two weeks. It actually looked like a baby and not just a blimp. Again, baby was absolutely perfect. We could see both hemispheres of its brain (which Doug thought was just the coolest thing EVER) and all 4 chambers of the heart. Thankfully, the burst didn't disturb our little honey at all. We do have a little dancer on our hands though, sonographer couldn't get babe to sit still long enough to measure everything. The doctors gave me Zofran to settle my stomach and morphine to help with the pain. I was prescribed more Zofran and Vicoden (since its okay in pregnancy) and told to take it super super easy this weekend. Hello bed rest. I have to go get a follow-up ultrasound with the OB next week to make sure the blood and fluid from the burst is getting absorbed and that my ovary is healing well. I wonder if we'll get to see little G again? Here's to a long weekend of movie marathons!!

9 Weeks

We told a whole bunch of family this week about our little babe, so exciting! Even though we heard the heartbeat and saw the sweet thing on the ultrasound, telling people makes it real. I came to terms with being "high risk" and having this stupid vitamin D deficiency, which I still don't know how that's possible. Otherwise, I have come to find that I have officially grown a "bump". So, this will be my last symptoms post:

Sore Boobs: Going on 3 months of painful boobs. Common man.
Morning Sickness: The WORST feeling to me is being nauseous. I am NOT a fan of feeling this way all day. It makes it very very difficult to eat when all I want to do is rip my stomach out of my body.
Frequent Urination: It's like breaking the seal when you're drinking. Once I go to the bathroom once, I'm back every 20 minutes. I try to stay up as long as possible but this doesn't seem to change my 4:30am potty break.
Headaches: Went a whole day without a headache this week. BOOM.
Tiredness: Exhausted. Plain and simple. From sun up to sun down. Doesn't matter how long I sleep, I'm so tired all the time.
Bloating: I now can notice a "bump" that never goes away. Exciting? Idk.

Cravings: Nothing really crazy this week. More smoothies and fruit.
Aversions: Ketchup, Mexican, anything really vinegar based and red meat. Had a hamburger yesterday, bad choice.

THIS WEEK I'M:
Looking forward to: Being 10 weeks, 1/4 of the way there!!
Not looking forward to: Continued horrible first trimester symptoms. It's getting old. (Yep, same this week. It really sucks!)

Rh Negative

Welp we can check "first pregnancy heart attack" off the list. Turns out when your blood type is A- (or any kind of -) and baby's daddy is O+ (or any kind of +) the doctors freak out, and freak you out, to the point where you have to stop everything that you are doing and run into the office. Welcome to my Monday afternoon. Even though I had told the doctors many times that I had a negative blood type (pretty rare) either they didn't believe me or they weren't listening. Either way, I had to drop everything I was doing and run into the office to get this massive shot in my butt. Ouch! Of course, I called Doug and he came rushing to the doctors to ask all the questions (I was freaking out and couldn't think) and this is basically what they told us:
1. My body doesn't have a certain antibody that baby does and our two blood types could start fighting it out. Being very bad for both babe and myself.
2. I have to get this shot 3 times (8 weeks, 28 weeks, and when my miracle is born)
3. They caught this early. If I had any sort of bleeding or spotting (thank god I haven't, like at all) it could have been bad.
4. I am now considered "high risk". Meaning I have to be delivered by an M.D. instead of a midwife because of the high potential of complications during delivery.
5. I have to be extra careful for the rest of this pregnancy and super careful for any other pregnancies down the road
After all our questions were answered the nurse then told me that I have a Vitamin D deficiency. I still don't know how that is possible considering I drink about a gallon of milk a week. I have to start taking more pills to make sure I get more Vitamin D. But it's not so terrible getting dr's orders to sit outside by the pool. Now if only the weather would cooperate!!

8 Weeks

We had the first ultrasound this week and words can not describe the emotions that overwhelm your body when you see your baby's little heart beating for the first time. I was in so much shock I could hardly breath. Little babe is perfect. 2 arm buds and 2 leg buds. It even still has its little tale. So cute!! The heart beat was 147 and super strong. (All the old wives tales would say Girl!) Though we won't see little G again till 20 weeks, that little preview was amazing. At the prenatal visit, everything looks great. I was exactly 8 weeks and right on track. She gave me a few things to start doing that I wasn't already. Otherwise, I'm doing beautifully. Other than all those horrible first trimester symptoms:
Sore Boobs: This week I need to go and get new bra's. Mine don't fit anymore. I can't wait for them to stop hurting all the time!!!
Morning Sickness: UGH!! So bad. I refuse to take anything for it. Women have been doing this forever. I can do it for a few more weeks. Nighttime is the worst for me. I honestly don't know how I eat dinner every night. Gingerale & ginger tea have become my staple.
Frequent Urination: Dr. told me I was drinking too much water. Didn't know that was possible. Hopefully with cutting down on my intake it will limit my potty breaks. I have started the 4:30 am bathroom break again. Not so fun seeing as hubs alarm goes off right around then.
Headaches: Here and there. Nothing that lasts for too long.
Tiredness: I have given in to what my body wants and stay in bed till around 11. Once hubs goes to work I usually go back to sleep for a few hours. Then just lounge. Seems like I don't get so tired so early anymore.
Bloating: Unfortunately, I thought I had gained a few pounds, BUT I LOST! :-( I am definitely "bloated" though. Doug even notices my little pouch now.

Cravings: Smoothies, smoothies, smoothies. Started making super healthy ones with stuff I don't normally eat (spinach etc.) to try and get those nutrients in me. I have at least 1 a day. Yumm.
Aversions: Ketchup, Mexican, anything really vinegar based. Haven't tried bacon this week. Hope that's gone.

THIS WEEK I'M:
Looking forward to: Seeing my extended family this weekend & telling more people about our little tyke.
Not looking forward to: Continued horrible first trimester symptoms. It's getting old.
